What type of shower is best for my current hot water system?

It is advisable to speak to one of our experienced and knowledgeable showroom staff  to confirm the best shower for your requirements.

Here are some of the basic pointers:

  • If you have a cold water storage tank and a hot water cylinder then a low pressure thermostatic is the best option. The pressure can be boosted with this shower by adding a shower pump.
  • If you have no cold water storage tank, but have a mains pressure hot water cylinder or combination central heating boiler then a high pressure thermostatic valve is the best option. Generally, because of the high performance from the water system and, therefore, the shower there is no need to improve the pressure by adding a shower pump.
  • An electric shower can be installed in either of these situations, it is connected to the cold main and has no requirement for a hot water connection. The electric shower heats the cold water instantaneously. An electric shower will also provide hot water if your central heating boiler breaks down. It can be the better option with large families.
